London, Sept 25 (ANI): Television star Jennifer Ellison has revealed that she believes in aliens and very often scans the skies for UFOs.

The 25-year-old star, recently named Rear of the Year for her pert bum, is quite certain that extra-terrestrials exist.

Ive never seen a UFO but it doesnt mean I dont believe and that we are alone. Youd be naive to think we are the only lifeforms in the universe, The Sun quoted her, as saying.

The ex-Brookside star, disclosed her beliefs just a fortnight after it was revealed how UFO fan Robbie Williams claimed one flew into his recording studio in LA.

In fact, the actress is stepping into the alien world, professionally thoughshe will tour next year in a musical version of HG Wells War of the Worlds. (ANI)

Simon: Leon will be the next Robbie
Last years X Factor winner has launched his come back single

X FACTOR judge Simon Cowell has backed last year’s winner, Leon Jackson, to be the next Robbie Williams.

Simon, 48, has also invited the Glasgow lad to launch his comeback single in style.

He will perform Don’t Call This Love on the first live X Factor show on October 11.

Leon, 19, told me: “Simon is over the moon with my new album and has been saying I’m a cross between Michael Buble and Robbie Williams. I’m like: ‘Calm down, Simon’.

“I didn’t worry that I didn’t capitalise on the success of the show by getting an album out straight away. I didn’t want to rush out a collection of covers.

“Leona Lewis is a prime example of what happens if you dedicate time and care and don’t rush. It’s possible to rival the top people if you get it right and that’s what I want to do.”

Leon’s album, titled Right Now, hits the shops on October 20.

TAKE THAT have wrapped up work in their fifth album just in time for Christmas.

GARY BARLOW, JASON ORANGE, HOWARD DONALD and MARK OWEN finished recording on Thursday and had a bit of a knees-up to mark the occasion.

If early indications from the Take That camp are anything to go by, it sounds like they’ve got plenty to celebrate.

Gary thinks it is the best album they have ever produced and reckons one track — provisionally titled This Wonderful World — beats anything he’s ever written.

A source said: “They are all really proud of this album and can’t wait to get it out there.

“The last album did so well and they are confident this will do even better.

“For Gary to say one of the tracks is his best yet is pretty exciting.”

I was the first to reveal that the lads were rushing back into the studio so they could have the album ready for a Christmas release. They will now fly out to LA at the end of the month to master it.

While they are staying in LA I reckon there’s a good chance they will bump into former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS.

As Take That’s star continues to rise, poor Robbie sinks further into his sofa.

Bet he’d like a slice of the pie — or should that be muffin?

Port Vale: Bell offers olive branch
Saturday, September 27, 2008

FORMER Port Vale chairman Bill Bell says he would consider investing in Port Vale....if the club approached him. Current chairman Bill Bratt has revealed he has been approached by a third party asking if he would welcome investment from Bell. Bell says that didn't come from him, but hasn't ruled out coming back into the club if the board wanted him.
Bell, pictured, lost control of the then-League One club when it went into administration in December 2002. However, he is still involved in a legal dispute with Vale over the former club shop.

Bell was Vale's chairman for 15 years, seven of which were spent in the Championship following promotions under manager John Rudge.
He says he is deeply concerned to see the cash-strapped club struggling in League Two. He said: "I haven't approached the club at all. It would be up to them to approach me.
"It would depend on what they want and would request from me.
"I am very concerned. We have seen Port Vale in the glory days and don't like seeing the club in days like they are now.
"But it is really nothing to do with me, it is other people running it now, not me."
Bell has rarely gone public on his views since Valiant 2001 took the club out of administration in May 2003.
The club has made huge strides off the field since then, including the near completion of the Lorne Street Stand with enterprise units and a children's centre.
They have also won financial support from Robbie Williams and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, and have sold 6,400 season tickets. However, the team has struggled and the board admit there is no money to appoint a manager from outside the club following the dismissal of Lee Sinnott.
Bell said: "I think it is terrible. But that is football, you have ups and downs. I think they need some help.
"I watch the results all the time and I do feel sorry for them. I want to see the club back to what it was.
"I felt they (Valiant 2001) should have done all right, but football is a difficult game. I think people realise it is not easy running a football club."
Bell has taken legal action against Vale after claiming they damaged his Hamil Road shop when moving out of the premises three years ago.
However, he has called for the club to contact him to resolve the dispute and save legal fees.
Bratt said it would be wrong to consider investment from Bell while the club was in a legal dispute with the former chairman.
He said: "We have been approached by someone to ask whether he would be welcome back, but there is still a court case, so it is hardly right that we should talk about that.
"He said we caused damage and took stuff which belonged to him, which we deny.
"It has cost us thousands of pounds in legal fees."
Vale's board are unlikely to welcome Bell back, even when the club-shop dispute is resolved.
Bratt and Valiant 2001 were vehement critics of the former chairman before finally winning control of the club.

Robbie Williams Monkeys Around

Robbie Williams has reportedly been living like a recluse, not leaving his US home in about 3 months. He recently appeared for the first time however, dressed as a gorilla.

The singer bought the monkey suit from a fancy dress store, and walked around Los Angeles wearing it. Friends of Robbie have expressed their concern over his state of mind after photos of him appeared in the press.

A few weeks ago, we reported that Robbie Williams split with his girlfriend, actress Ayda Field, to concentrate on music-making.

Robbies mars bar

POP oddball ROBBIE WILLIAMS penned alien anthems at a UFO camp as his obsession continues to fly into orbit.

The Angels singer, who claims to have had several alien encounters, is said to have written the songs during a recent stay at Trout Lake in Washington.

And extraterrestrial expert MICHAEL C LUCKMAN believes Robbie is working on an aliens-inspired album which could be used to help summon little green men to Earth.

Robbie arrived armed with video equipment for his fortnight at Trout Lake, a top destination for UFO-spotters.

Luckman, director of the New York Centre For Extraterrestrial Research, revealed: “Trout Lake is America’s No1 UFO hotspot.

The ranch there is the equivalent of Devil’s Tower in the film Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.

“If there is any place on Earth where humans are likely to have open contact with an extraterrestrial civilisation, it is there.”

Scientists used musical notes in the final scene in Close Encounters to welcome aliens to Earth and Luckman added: “What better person to roll out the welcome mat than Robbie Williams, one of the most recognisable and beloved performers on the planet?

“Robbie took the opportunity to write several new songs about aliens. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was planning an alien album.”

He added the ex-TAKE THAT star will return to Trout Lake “very soon”.

Robbie recently said he was contacted by aliens in his Los Angeles recording studio after writing a song about abduction.

And Luckman now wants to connect Robbie to a machine to encourage more alien contact.

He said: “Robbie needs to be trained for contact with highly-advanced aliens.

“The brainwave machine I recommend is like the biofeedback machines Nasa use with their astronauts. But this one is specially designed to boost psychic powers for telepathic communication between humans and aliens.”

I’m pleased to see Robbie has finally found some friends with similar interests to play with.

I find the idea of a Robbie alien album hilarious — but his EMI record bosses may not agree.

Then again, it can’t do much worse than Rudebox...

Robbie Williams' Martian music

Wednesday, 1 October 2008

Robbie Williams has spent two weeks at a UFO camp writing his new album.

The 'Angels' singer - who has previously claimed to have had extraterrestrial encounters - arrived armed with video equipment in his search for aliens during a recent visit to Trout Lake in Washington.

Extraterrestrial expert Michael C. Luckman - who recently identified Robbie as an alien ambassador - told BANG Showbiz: "Robbie used the occasion as an opportunity to write several new songs about aliens. I wouldn't be surprised if Robbie may be planning an alien album.

"The place is known as America's number one UFO hotspot and a magnet for true believers in aliens.

"The ranch in Trout Lake is the equivalent of Devil's Tower in Wyoming in the film 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'. If there is any place on Earth where humans are likely to have open contact with an extraterrestrial civilisation, it is at James Gilliland's ranch. Scientists used musical notes in the final scene in 'Close Encounters' to welcome aliens to Earth.

"What better person to roll out the welcome mat than Robbie Williams, one of the most recognisable and beloved performers on the face of the planet?"

Luckman, director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research, also revealed Robbie plans to return to the ranch "very soon".

ROBBIE WELCOMES GREEN MEN THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF SONG .

Christ, Robbie Williams must be heading for the nuthouse and no mistake.
According to UFO summer camp organiser Michael C Luckman, the singer penned a series of 'Ode to Alien' songs while staying with them.
Trout Lake in Washington - a UFO-spotters' paradise - was the destination for loony camper Williams. The singer arrived laden with video equipment and an acoustic guitar to serenade extraterrestrials and fellow nut jobs alike, we imagine.
Luckman, a leading expert in aliens, told The Sun:
"If there is any place on Earth where humans are likely to have open contact with an extraterrestrial civilisation, it is there (Trout Lake). What better person to roll out the welcome mat than Robbie Williams, one of the most recognisable and beloved performers on the planet ?"
Whoa there! Recognisable, yes. We all know exactly who those mad, rolling eyes and foamy mouth belongs to. But beloved? That's overstepping the mark. He rambles insanely on:
"Robbie took the opportunity to write several new songs about aliens. I wouldn't be surprised if he was planning an alien album."
As if the latest turgid offering from the ex-Take Thater wasn't bad enough, now we face the prospect of being treated to weird alien shit.
Talk about Close Encounters of the Turd Kind (sorry)."

No probe into TV phone-in scandals

Oct 1 2008

The Serious Fraud Office has said it will not carry out an inquiry into the TV phone-in scandals.

The SFO had considered allegations over phone-in programmes and competitions, including shows like BBC1's Eurovision Song Contest and Fame Academy.

The SFO also looked into ITV programmes and competitions involving the use of premium rate services.

But a statement from the SFO said: "After full and careful consideration the director considers that none of these meet the SFO criterion for acceptance for investigation."

The SFO was also asked to look at Opera Telecom Ltd, the telecommunications operator contracted by GMTV Ltd to manage competition entry systems, as well as Big Game TV Ltd.

It decided not to investigate the cases of Big Game TV and GMTV in February.

In making its decision not to investigate, the SFO considered the programmes looked into by Ofcom in its Broadcast Bulletin and Adjudications on May 8.

In May, Ant and Dec handed back an award and ITV were hit with a record Ł5.67 million fine after details of a massive TV phone-in scam were made public.

The report into 2005's British Comedy Awards revealed that organisers promised pop star Robbie Williams he could present Ant and Dec with an award if he appeared. The report also said the actual winner should have been The Catherine Tate Show.

There was no suggestion that Williams or Ant and Dec were aware of "any of these issues".

October 2nd, 2008
English singer Robbie Williams, whos fascinated with the extraterrestrial world, is expected to star in a TV show about UFOs.
The UFO Data Magazine is apparently in talks with the 34 year old singer to star in their new satellite TV show, due to be aired next year.

Robbie Williams, Radiohead and Kate Nash are among Britain's top pop and rock acts who are demanding more control over their music by joining a new musician's union.

Dozens of the music industry's biggest names are launching an organisation to protect the interests of performers and musicians.

So far more than 60 acts have joined the Featured Artists' Coalition to regain some control from record labels. They want to see artists retain ownership of the copyright of their music which they would then lease to their label.
The coalition is also asking for the music industry to explain to stars how, where and why their music is being used and to get a bigger slice of the takings when it is.

They say that the explosion of digital media means that their songs can be sold and used in many more ways than before and that artists are being ignored as these new markets are exploited.

Brian Message, co-manager of Radiohead and Kate Nash said: 'It is time for artists to have a strong collective voice to stand up for their interests. The digital landscape is changing fast and new deals are being struck all the time, but all too often without reference to the people who actually make the music.
'The Featured Artists' Coalition will help all artists, young and old, well-known or not, drive overdue change through the industry in their interests and those of fans.'

Jazz Summers, manager of The Verve, said: 'The Featured Artists' Coalition is an organisation for artists, which will be run by artists. It will ensure that in future the voice of artists is properly heard in discussions with music and technology companies, trade organisations and most importantly, with Government.

'It will also seek to improve the treatment of artists within the business and campaign to update laws and practices that better reflect the new music landscape. Digital technology gives artists the opportunity to control their future - this is the time to seize that opportunity.'

A number of bands have recently exploited the internet to release music without the backing of a large record deal. Radiohead released their last album, In Rainbows, through their own website with fans paying whatever they felt they could afford. And Oasis's latest offering has been published on social networking site MySpace ahead of its release next week.

The new organisation will be launched tomorrow at music industry event In The City, in Manchester.

Discord over the phone that comes with free musicNokia's bold plan to offer unlimited downloads with its new mobiles is making artists nervous about their royalties writes James Robinson.

It sounds too good to be true: the world's largest mobile phone company launches a service allowing its customers to download an unlimited number of tracks by almost any artist or group, completely free, for as long as they want. But Nokia's new Comes With Music contract, launched in London last week, promises just that.

It is good news for fans, but some artists are unhappy about the deal, which is the latest example of a big corporation using the power of music to sell its products. Artists fear they may not receive a large enough proportion of the proceeds.

Comes With Music also comes with catches. Users will have to pay a one-off Ł130 for a new handset, and the contract runs for 12 months, after which they can download tunes only if they buy another Nokia product. The number of tracks will be limited by the capacity of Nokia phones and its music website, which can hold around 6,000 songs.

But users will be able to keep what they've already saved to their handsets or PCs after the contract expires, whether or not they remain Nokia customers, raising the prospect of music-lovers assembling a free library of digital songs that would fill a small record shop if they were in physical form. The four major record companies - EMI, Sony BMG, Universal and Warner Music - are signed up as partners, and similar deals have been reached with the industry's largest independents, including Beggars Group and Ministry of Sound, with dozens of smaller labels also likely to come on board.

The details of the deal have not been disclosed, but some industry observers wonder how Nokia will make a profit from it. The assumption in the industry is that the mobile phone company will pay record firms a small fee - more likely to be pennies than pounds - for each song its customers download, so only users who use the service heavily, taking many hundreds of tracks, would cost Nokia dear. Studies of other digital music sites, including Apple's iTunes, show that users typically download a fraction of that, although that may be explained by the fact that they have to pay.

Giving away music could change that, representing a huge gamble for Nokia, but the mobile phone company - which has 1 billion customers worldwide - points out that even free music sites, most of them illegal, are rarely used heavily. Many consumers still choose to buy tracks in CD form, topping up their collections with digital tracks rather than moving their entire collection online.

If Nokia's analysis is correct, the new service will boost profits along with sales of its handsets, creating another revenue stream rather than acting as an expensive marketing device. Nokia is presenting the service as a seismic event, the moment when the music industry belatedly embraced downloading after years of resistance, although the 'big four' have also endorsed a similar initiative from internet giant MySpace, which launched its own online record store earlier this month.

The same commercial logic underpins both deals. 'It is better for music companies to receive something for their music than nothing,' says Nokia's UK managing director Simon Ainslie, who adds that only 15 per cent of music is downloaded legally, despite the huge success of Apple's revolutionary iTunes.

iTunes has a huge market share in the US and parts of Europe, but it is far less popular in emerging markets such as India and China. There next-generation mobiles, rather than PCs, are the gadget of choice for young consumers. Nokia hopes to leapfrog Apple, becoming the world's biggest provider of digital music at a time when phones are morphing into handheld devices that do far more than make calls, attracting a young and affluent audience in the process.

Legal downloaders tend to be older, whereas young fans are unwilling to pay for tracks, instead taking advantage of the growing numbers of artists who place their music online without charge.

Radiohead made their latest album available over the internet for free, asking devotees to pay as much or as little as they liked; and even Oasis, whose attitude to giving music away was once as unreconstructed as their music, streamed their new album, Dig Your Own Hole, on MySpace last week.

Nokia hopes Comes With Music will make its latest handset one of this year's most sought-after Christmas gifts, but there are signs of protest from artists and songwriters.

They say labels are paying them far less, and the new players on the music scene, from mobile phones companies to internet service providers, are exacerbating that trend. Tim Clark of IE Music, which manages Robbie Williams, among others, says: 'There are players in our industry now that weren't there a few years ago. Nokia, Apple and MySpace are huge companies using music in one way or another to promote products or services and most of the deals they strike are essentially loss-leaders.' Labels that argue that they make far less money from downloads, meaning artists must receive a smaller share too, are being disingenuous, Clark says. Corporations and individuals may pay less for digital music, but the cost of getting that music to fans has also been reduced. 'Digital technology does away with manufacturing, packaging and distribution costs,' he says. 'There are huge savings to be made. We now have a new economic model because we're seeing huge savings in the distribution of content. Some of that should be passed on to artists.'
Clark has helped to set up an organisation, the Featured Artists Coalition - launched this weekend - which will campaign for performers and writers to get a larger share of digital revenues. Its members include Robbie Williams, Billy Bragg, the Verve's Richard Ashcroft, Kaiser Chiefs and many other household names. The coalition hopes that signing away rights for indefinite periods, allowing record companies to sell them on as they see fit, will become a thing of the past. It hopes to persuade up-and-coming artists to join their established counterparts to campaign for a change in the way digital deals are structured.

According to its website, its key aim is to ensure 'artists ... receive fair compensation whenever their business partners receive an economic return from the exploitation of the artists' work'. It declares: 'Record and technology companies are signing agreements to deliver music to fans in new ways. Artists are not involved in these negotiations and their interests are likely to be overlooked. [They] should receive fair compensation as part of these new deals.'

Robbie Williams famously remarked that his 2002 deal with EMI had made him 'rich beyond my wildest dreams' - but the era of huge CD sales which underpinned that is over. Music fans may not mourn the fact they are no longer enriching their idols, but free music could come with an unexpected price: much of it may not be worth listening to if those who create it don't get paid.

Robbie reaches out to youth at seance

A GROUP of teenagers visiting a haunted building were prepared to meet some unexpected guests – but when Robbie Williams walked in they thought they had seen a ghost.

Youngsters from the city council-run Reach4It project were visiting the notoriously spooky Leopard Hotel in Burslem for a Halloween tour, when the superstar singer popped in for a seance.

Robbie, who is back visiting his Potteries roots for a few days, satisfied his new-found interest in the paranormal with a ghost tour of the hotel, which has been featured on TV's Most Haunted.

And when he heard the group of 15 teenagers and four staff from Reach4It – a project aiming to get youngsters into education, employment and training – were there too, Robbie decided to join them.

After hearing about their good work, the international celebrity, who was with mum Jan Williams and girlfriend Ayda Field, even insisted on paying their Ł200 bill for food, drink and the tour.

Youth worker Camille Brown said: "We didn't tell the young people Robbie might be there in case he didn't turn up, but when he walked in they were really shocked.

"They were running up to him asking for autographs and pictures. Robbie was great, he was very interested in our project asking lots of questions.

"One of the young people explained how she had taken part in the project and gone on to work for the council as a peer mentor, and Robbie congratulated her, shaking her hand.

"Another couldn't resist asking a question about Take That and he said he was on good terms with the others now and had seen them just three weeks ago."

As well as spotting a celebrity, the group reported experiencing poltergeists slamming doors and floating lights. And Steve Winmill, another youth worker, said the famous visitor had inspired the young people, who join the project aged 16 to 18.

He said: "Robbie taking an interest in our project has given us a huge boost.

"One problem we find with young people is there's no pride in their city. But someone local who has gained international success putting aside some time to come and speak to them, you could see what it meant to them in their faces.

"The point of the project is to try to convince them they can achieve. We even use Robbie Williams as an example as a local lad done good, so for him to turn up brought it home.

"They were asking why Robbie would bother coming back to Stoke-on-Trent, but afterwards one of the girls said the experience had changed her because she had realised Stoke-on-Trent is worth something."

Pop king Robbie Williams was “spooked out” when he took part in a pub seance.

Instead of Angels, Robbie, 34, saw floating lights around his head and doors slammed by poltergeists, sources claim.

But the star – who is already a keen fan of UFOs – is determined not to let go of his new spiritual experience.

One seance member said: “He was fascinated by the eerie goings-on and it has really inspired him to get involved with ghost-hunting now.

“It has opened up a whole new world for him. He is just gutted that he didn’t know about it all earlier or his life could have been very different.”

Robbie called up the spirits with his mum Jan and a group of youngsters at his local 18th
century Leopard Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford-shire, which has featured on television’s Most Haunted show.

Our exclusive pictures show him at the shivery shindig – for which he footed the bill.

Robbie has claimed that aliens have been in touch with him three times already.

He has had an Egyptian symbol representing the cosmos tattooed on his back.

And one guru reckons that means he is ready for a close encounter.

Michael Luckman, of New York’s extra-terrestrial centre, said: “Robbie seems to be preparing himself body, mind and soul to take the ultimate journey to space in the near future.”

Once was when he was recording the song Arizona, about other-world contact.

Now, Robbie Williams plans to look for aliens underwater!

Sunday, 30 November , 2008

After scanning the skies for UFOs, Robbie Williams is now planning to look for aliens beneath the waves.

The 34-year-old flying saucer hunter is set to go looking for Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) - the official term for water-borne phenomena.

Williams will hire jet skis and go on a 35-mile trip with his mates to spot sea-dwelling extra-terrestrials. The journey will take him from an LA marina to the island of Santa Catalina off the California coast.

He concocted the scheme after hearing UFO nuts had reported sightings near Malibu of USOs.

“This is mental but I don’t care. We are renting some jet skis and we are going to go from Marina Del Rey to Catalina,” the Daily Star quoted Williams, as saying.

“I heard about these sightings at Malibu of things going into the water. I thought it would be quite exciting to be on a very small object very high over the ocean floor knowing there might be something down there,” he added.

Robbie announced his plan to bosses at the abovetopsecret. com website, to which he is a frequent visitor.

Barlow hints at Robbie reunion

Tuesday, 2 December 2008

Take That frontman Gary Barlow has said he thinks the band will one day reunite with original member Robbie Williams.

Speaking at the Paris launch of the band's latest album The Circus, Barlow told Newsbeat that the boys were all in contact again and it felt like the 90s.

He said: "As long as we're alive people are going to ask if we're going to get back together and I do believe we will one day, I just don't know when.
"

Barlow was joined in Paris by Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Howard Donald.

The foursome performed an exclusive gig in the French capital to a few hundred very excited fans.

Barlow explained that the boys had been rebuilding their relationship with Williams.

He said: "The five of us were together a lot over the summer and it just felt like we were back in the 90s.

"I get an e-mail every week from Rob, Mark gets one every other week, J phones him once a week. We're all keeping in touch. It's really fun getting to know him again, I must say.

"The five of us are rebuilding our friendship and that's really the only place to start.
"

Speaking about the band's latest record - the second offering since their very successful reunion - Barlow seemed satisfied with the experience.

He said: "This album has been the most enjoyable record I've ever made.

Take That
Wherever the boys go the media will always follow

"Although there was a huge amount of pressure on us, it never felt like it in the studio. It just feels great, it feels perfect and it feels like it could be our ultimate record this.
"

The boys performed on a tiny stage and chose Paris to launch their album because of the fact that their record company is French-owned.

Barlow seemed more than happy with the reception they received.
He said: "They were a great crowd and the thing that shocked me the most was that they all knew the words - it's only been out a day!

"Until the day we die we don't need any more praise that's for sure. We've had a lifetime's worth just in the last 24 hours.
"

ROBBIE Williams has lifted the lid on his life as a teenager growing up in the Potteries before he found fame and fortune with Take That.

In three, 30-minute audio clips, the singer remembers the friends he hung around with when he was living with his mother Jan and sister Sally at their home in Greenbank Road, Tunstall.

The "Robcast" is available in full to fans who pay a Ł30 annual subscription to his official website. It concludes with a haunting tale about Robbie and his friends breaking into the boarded up Church Lawton Hall one night after leaving a pub in Trent Vale, near Trentham, to attempt to invoke ghostly spirits using a Ouija Board.

Robbie says: "I found myself face down in mud, only to raise my head to realise I'm on top of someone's last resting place – and that someone died in the 17th century.

"There it is, Church Lawton Hall, and movie perfect too. Mist had risen off the lake at the back and it had engulfed the whole building. You couldn't have picked a more paranormal setting.

"Every step we made was like being in a Cliff Richard dry ice Top Of The Pops performance."

Robbie's mum Jan said: "It's true what he says. I can remember him coming home – he was very scared."

Robbie's first audio clip is introduced to the sounds of Dream Academy's Life In A Northern Town. The final instalment ends with Take That's Never Forget.

He says: "I'm 16, living with my mum and sister in Greenbank Road, Tunstall.

"Tension was abound, mum was about to find out I hadn't done as well as I had led her to believe (at school).

"Things looked pretty bleak for me."

Robbie, who at the time was known by friends as "Will", goes on to recount tales from his early life, including falling in with "the proverbial bad lot, a draw-smoking, non-job-bothering lot", taking LSD in Shelleys nightclub, a brief spell as a door-to-door salesman in Stoke-on-Trent and spending his first pay packet in Hanley on a pair of Versace jeans.

Robbie also talks about auditioning and eventually winning a part in Take That, which meant he never needed to retake his GCSEs at Fenton Sixth Form College.

He says: "I sang a Jason Donovan song and danced like MC Hammer.

"Things like that (finding fame and fortune) don't happen to people from Stoke-on-Trent. In fact the only time I can remember us being on the TV is a brief mention in a Carpet Warehouse advert."

Jan said: "The audition for Take That was in May in Manchester. I checked the place out before we went.

"Coming home he was very excited about it, but we didn't hear anything for a long time.

"In August he got his GCSE results. He was in the garden with his friends. When he saw me he came in and said, 'I've not done very well'.

"I had a look and said, 'no you haven't'.

"He went back into the garden, then the phone rang and it was (Take That manager) Nigel Martin Smith, to say that Robbie was in the band. He was over the moon.

"From the disappointment in the morning, things turned out all right."

During his Robcast, the singer mentions a number of friends who went with him to Church Lawton Hall, including Maffer, Egghead, Flick, Dave, Coco (Paul Colclough) and Drew (Munroe).

Robbie Williams admits accidentally smoking rubber in a spliff

By 3am 4/12/2008

The weird world of Robbie Williams's drug use becomes ever stranger.

Last week he revealed how he almost stabbed himself during a bad acid trip. Now he thinks he deserves a Scout's badge for smoking weed even though he once mistook rubber for pot.

He said: "I could do the whole process (of rolling a spliff) in one hand in a car while it was moving. It was the only Scout badge I ever wanted.

"Once I bought a lump of resin and it was rubber from someone's shoe, so I smoked it anyway." Just say no, mate...
