When Robbie Williams and Ayda Field reunited in the summer it was rumoured that he might finally settle down for good.


But the 34-year-old is worried his big music comeback could spell the end of their relationship.


‘Rob’s determined to put out a fantastic new album and he’s stopping at nothing to make it a success,’ a friend tells Now. ‘But he’s seriously concerned that his relationship with Ayda will suffer as a result.


‘His desperation to reignite his recording career is likely to leave her feeling sidelined. Once Rob gets his head down to the business of making music, everyone around him knows that he won’t be distracted.


‘Unless Ayda’s prepared to give up everything and follow Rob around there’s the real possibility that their relationship will be doomed.

But our insider thinks Robbie will regret it if he lets Ayda slip through his fingers.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has given his biggest hint yet that he will rejoin TAKE THAT — in the same week he splashed out on a new home back in Britain.


The singer, 34, who has lived in Los Angeles for five years, has had his old group’s symbol tattooed on his right arm. And he admitted last night: “I’d love to be in the band again.
”

The US-based Brit forked out £7million on an historic Wiltshire mansion, planned as his base for a charm offensive to promote his new album next year.


He has admitted he is “over the moon” for his old group, now enjoying a hugely successful comeback.


And last night he said he would “love” to rejoin them, quipping: “I’d like to think we’d be the only band in the history of music to get together because of artistic differences.
”

Robbie has had the Take That symbol tattooed on his right arm as a sign of support for his chart topping former bandmates — with whom he had hits such as Back For Good before walking out in 1995 amid a bitter feud.


He and singer GARY BARLOW have had formal discussions about recording a one-off reunion gig for a DVD.


They chatted about it again when they met at an Arsenal football match last month.


Last night Robbie, exiled in LA for five years, penned an emotional message about his plans on his Inner Sanctum website.


He said: “Just thought I’d set a few things straight about me and the boys. We got together a lot over the summer. It was amazing. We’ve all matured a lot since we parted. I’m very pleased to say the differences we’ve had have just melted away.


“We had a lot of serious chats. Everything we had problems with each other about just boils down to one thing — victims of circumstance. No one was right, no one was wrong, it just ‘was’.


“We mainly laughed, which is what we used to do in the early days. In fact we didn’t really stop. Bellyache laughs — I’ve missed ’em. Bellyache laughs and the boys.


“After they left I felt like a ton of bricks had been removed from my shoulders. We’d put right what an awful lot of other broken bands fail to do.


“I celebrated by getting the Take That symbol tattooed on my right arm. I’m proud to know the boys and I’m proud to have been in the band.

Robbie, who became a massive solo star after quitting the group, added: “The thing that struck me the most was how much fun they’re having. It’s more rewarding when you’re a gang. Ever since I left Take That I’ve wanted to be in a band.


“I’m over the moon for the boys. I was worried at first. I was following their meteoric return, but every photo of the lads I saw they didn’t look happy.


“Then they just seemed to take full stride again. Having met up with them I can tell you they’re having a ball.


“I’m really proud. I love the new album too — haven’t stopped listening to it.


“I’d love to be in the band again but I’ve got some unfinished business of my own.

Mark Owen says he thinks Robbie Williams will rejoin the band, but it will be a last-minute decision and come as a complete surprise.


The singer believes his former band mate will turn up for one of the group's forthcoming concerts and reunite on stage.


"With Rob, it would be an unannounced thing," Owen tells Heat. "I've a feeling that halfway through the show we'd get a message to say that he wanted to come up and sing a song.

COWELL URGES WILLIAMS NOT TO REJOIN TAKE THAT

Music mogul SIMON COWELL has advised ROBBIE WILLIAMS not to rejoin his former bandmates in TAKE THAT.

The pop star - who quit the group in 1995 - has been dogged by rumours about a possible collaboration with his former colleagues ever since the band reformed in 2006.

And speculation about a possible reunion has rocketed since it was revealed that Williams has been spending time with his former bandmates after healing their rift.

But Cowell is adamant that a reunion would be a risky move for Williams, who enjoyed a hugely successful solo career after leaving the Never Forget hitmakers.

Cowell tells British magazine Heat, "That’s a tricky one. I think I would keep it (Take That) as it is. He (Williams) could do a guest slot now and again.
A duet?”
And Cowell admits he would be delighted if Williams would agree to appear on his British TV talent show X Factor for the series finale on Saturday (13Dec08) night.

He adds, "I would have loved Robbie to have been there on Saturday night and it's never too late. He’s still one of the biggest stars in the world. He’s great. I love Robbie.

TAKE THAT singer GARY BARLOW encouraged former bandmate ROBBIE WILLIAMS to move back to the U.K. - because it is the perfect place to pen new songs.

Earlier this week (beg08Dec08), a British tabloid reported that Williams was set to move back to England after living in Los Angeles for five years.

And Barlow thinks he was the driving force behind the Angel hitmaker's decision.

He tells Britain's The Sun, "It's great news that he's decided to come back to the U.K. I've always loved working here and wouldn't want to be anywhere else - and I've been telling Robbie for a while now that he needs to move back. I think the time is right for him to come back now.

UFO-loving Robbie Williams’ secret is out there – his new £7million West Country mansion is in the heart of crop circle country.
And locals are convinced he picked the sprawling estate in Compton Bassett, Wilts, because it is yards from the HQ of fans of the spooky paranormal mysteries.

Each summer his local pub, The White Horse, turns its skittle alley into a research centre for thousands of crop circle investigators.

Robbie Williams 'Courting Major Label Interest

Robbie Williams is reportedly courting renewed interest from major record labels following recent reports linking him to a reunion with former band Take That.


Williams, who signed an £80million contract with EMI Records in 2002, has struggled since his last album, 2006's 'Rudebox', divided critics and fans.


But increased speculation that he may rejoin Take That is said to have increased the singer's profile once again.


He is currently due to release his next studio album, his last with EMI, in 2009.


“Word is getting out that his new album is sounding brilliant and the Take That reunion coverage has helped,” a source told the Sun newspaper, adding: “His next deal could be a record-breaker”.


Reports suggest Williams could sign to an all-encompassing deal, similar to those that Madonna and Jay-Z have with concert promoter Live Nation.


On his website last week, Williams spoke candidly about his former band, who reunited in 2005.

He's been in the wilderness... but now Robbie Williams is looking to quickstep back to stardom.


The Robster fancies his cha-cha-chances of wowing Britain with some fancy footwork on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.


Robbie, 34, has his sights set on the Saturday night show when he returns to the UK - although he seems a bit confused by the exact name.


Talking about his imminent comeback, Robbie says: "You can expect me on Celebrity Come Dancing towards the end of summer next year.
"

Robbie is currently packing up his gear in LA and getting ready to move back to the UK next week. And, by the sounds of it, he's ready for a spot of hard work.


As well as plotting his way on to the Strictly set, his main priority for 2009 is to finish off his new solo album before any reunion with Take That goes ahead. "I'm going into the studio at the end of January to get it ready," he says. "If I could get it out quicker I would. These things take time though and I'm not very good at waiting.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is planning his next album - he's heading back into the recording studio at the beginning of next year (09).


The Rock DJ singer's last LP release, Rudebox, received mixed reviews when it was released in 2006, but Williams is looking forward to producing his next offering.


He's so eager to start work on his new music, he'd happily start recording now - but restrictions on the studio's schedule don't allow him to start work any earlier

Robbie to spend Christmas with Barlow

Singer Robbie Williams has made peace with former Take That band mate Gary Barlow and has been invited to his former foe's house for a bit of Christmas cheer.


Williams, who left the band in 1995, has been rebuilding his relationship with Barlow over the last few months and rumours are rife that he will be joining the band on their tour next year.


A Take That source was quoted in the Daily Express as saying: "A lot of people who knew the band when Robbie was in it can't believe how well he and Gary get on these days.
"

"They really are very good friends. I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that Robbie has matured and mellowed.
"

Barlow not only extended the olive branch to Robbie, but also invited the rest of the band members to his home for some down time between Christmas and New Year.


The source added: "Gary has told the boys — Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange — they are welcome round to his house for a small get-together in between Christmas and New Year.

WORRIED superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS was last night praying for his own Angel as his mother battled to recover from a major heart operation.

Robbie, 34, secretly dashed back to Britain from his home in Los Angeles to be with his doting mum Jan, 67, when she went into hospital for heart bypass surgery.

The singer is extremely close to Jan, who is believed to be the inspiration behind his smash hit Angels.

The song is one of Robbie’s biggest hits and sold two million copies when released in 1997.

Jan was said to be in a “critical but stable” condition last night, a few hours after undergoing surgery.

Devoted Robbie will not be able to visit her until she leaves intensive care — but is expected to spend Christmas Day in hospital with her as she begins the long process of recovery.

A source said: “Like any patient who has undergone major heart surgery, Jan’s not out of the woods yet. She is in a critical but stable condition, but that’s normal for such a complex procedure.

“Jan was put in intensive care immediately after the operation, where she’ll be monitored extremely closely.

“She will almost certainly spend Christmas Day in hospital, but if all goes well she might be discharged by New Year.

“Robbie is desperate to make sure everything goes exactly to plan.
”
Jan was admitted to a private hospital in Cheshire on Saturday, and it is understood she had her operation yesterday morning after Robbie had jetted back in time to wish her well.

The source added: “It’s highly unusual for this type of surgery to be carried out at this time of year. Private patients can pretty much pick and choose their operation dates so it’s likely there was some urgency in this case.

“If there are no complications Jan will be released on to a specialist cardiac ward on Monday, and Robbie may be able to visit her as early as then. The doctors will assess her progress on a daily basis to make sure her recovery is going well. But any major surgery carries risks and Robbie will be understandably concerned for his mum. It won’t be an easy Christmas for him.
”
Jan, a drink and drugs counsellor, brought up Robbie as a single mum after his dad Peter walked out when he was just two.

She later spotted an advert for auditions that would set her son on the road to worldwide fame with TAKE THAT.

Robbie — who has a sister, Sally, 42 — once said: “I can’t wish for anything more than I’ve got with my mum and sister. What I’ve got is fantastic.
”
He has regularly flown Jan to LA and bought her a £1.2million home and Andy Warhol masterpieces as thank you gifts.

To Robs Mum :Get well soon

ROBBIE Williams's mum Jan will spend Christmas in hospital after undergoing bypass surgery on a life-threatening heart problem.

The alcohol abuse counsellor went under the knife yesterday after she was diagnosed with a diseased artery.

Daughter Sally Williams, who lives in Keele, said the condition would have been life-threatening if it had not been discovered, but said Jan is now making a good recovery.

She will not leave her hospital bed before Christmas, but Sally said she will still be spending lots of time with her family over the festive period.

However, it is understood former Take That singer Robbie is not returning to the region, contrary to reports.

Sally said: "The diseasing on the artery was life-threatening if it wasn't discovered. It was very fortunate that they found it when they did.

"But it has gone absolutely superbly. I have spoken to her this morning and she is making an excellent recovery.

"She will be in hospital over Christmas but we will be going to see her every day.

"We will be taking Christmas to the hospital.

"You have to step up to the plate at times like this. It isn't a crisis or a drama, it is just something you have to deal with."

Jan, who was a judge at The Sentinel's Our Heroes awards in September, first discovered she had the condition on Thursday after admitting herself into a private hospital in Cheshire because of chest pains.

The Salvation Army fund-raiser is believed to be the inspiration behind Robbie's hit song Angels, which sold two million copies when it was released in 1997.

Sally said her mum was dealing with the condition without panic and the early signs suggest she is recuperating well.

She said: "She went in for some tests because she was having a bit of discomfort. She was thinking it might have been a bit of angina.

"They discovered that she had a problem with one of the arteries in her heart and they thought it was a good opportunity to operate because she was in such good condition."

She added: "It was very much a shock. They found the problem on Thursday and operated on Sunday, but she is doing incredibly well.

"They don't know when she will be out of hospital but they know she is planning to get home as soon as possible."

Alan Lea, area co-ordinator of heart surgery body the North Staffordshire Zipper Club, said the success rate of heart bypass operations was improving.

Mr Lea, who visits wards to reassure people having surgery along with other volunteers, said: "No two individuals are the same but after the surgery it is a case of doing a little bit at a time and it generally takes about six weeks to get back to full fitness.

"Heart disease is still one of the biggest killers in the country. Those numbers never go down.

"But surgeons are highly-skilled people and their success rate is absolutely tremendous."
